Spring term 2026

Class Novels purchased by donations from local businesses, our amazing parents and our wonderful staff

We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to the incredible generosity of local businesses, parents, and staff, our school has been able to purchase over 200 brand-new books—an investment of more than £1,000 into our children’s education! We now have a whole-class set of novels to support learning in Spring across EVERY year group.

These books will:
Boost engagement and enjoyment of our 'read to' sessions where teachers read uninterrupted to the children for 15 minutes every day.
Ensure everyone stays 'on the same page' through follow up reading lessons on comprehension of the texts.
Support language and writing development through visual exposure to correct grammatical structures and spelling
Expose pupils to a wealth of rich vocabulary

To all our sponsors: THANK YOU for making this possible! 💛

Want to join this amazing initiative? We’re inviting further sponsors to help us purchase even more books for the next half term. Get in touch and make a lasting impact.

28th January 2026 - Year 6 Trip to London

A long but fantastic day was head by Year 6 with a packed itinerary in London.  Starting at 6:30am, they travelled from Skipton to Kings Cross Station, went on a river cruise, had a trip on the London Eye, toured and had a workshop in the Houses of Parliament and explored our capital city.  Some of our pupils also had the chance to meet Julian Smith, the MP for our school's area and ask him some questions.  He was very interested in our school dog and promised to come and visit if he got to meet Cooper!

Thursday 5th February 2026 - Young Voices

54 children came with us to Young Voices at Co-Op live arena in Manchester. We had such an incredible time singing throughout the day and performing in the concert in the evening!  What an incredible event... Well done KS2 choir, we are so proud of how you represented team Glusburn.

Until next year...

Keep singing!
